How to place orders on TradingView

Once your PrimeXBT account is connected to TradingView, you can place orders straight from the chart. This guide shows how to pick an instrument, open the order panel, set Take Profit and Stop Loss, and place the order.

Step 1. Choose an instrument

  1. Open a chart on TradingView.

  2. Click the instrument name in the top-left corner of the chart, for example EURUSD. Symbol Search opens.

  3. Select the PrimeXBT filter. The list now shows only instruments you can trade with PrimeXBT.

  4. Click an instrument to open its chart.

Step 2. Open the order panel

Click SELL or BUY in the top-left corner of the chart. The order panel opens on the right side of the screen.

I

f you click SELL or BUY and the Trade with your broker window opens instead, your PrimeXBT account isn't connected. Connect it first: see How to connect PrimeXBT to TradingView.

Step 3. Choose the order type

At the top of the order panel, pick the order type:

Order type

When it's executed

Use it when

Market

Immediately, at the best available price

You want to enter now

Limit

When the price reaches your level or better: below the current price to buy, above it to sell

You want a better price than now

Stop

When the price reaches your level: above the current price to buy, below it to sell

You want to enter once the price breaks through a level

For Limit and Stop orders, enter the price at which the order should trigger. Then enter the quantity.

Step 4. Set Take Profit and Stop Loss

You can add Take Profit (TP) and Stop Loss (SL) in two ways.

In the order panel, before you place the order: tick Take Profit and Stop Loss, then enter the price levels.

On the chart, after you place the order: your open position or pending order appears as a line on the chart. Drag the TP or SL handle from that line to the price level you want.

Step 5. Place the order

Check the details and click Buy or Sell at the bottom of the order panel.

TradingView only sends your order to PrimeXBT. PrimeXBT executes it under PX Trader 2.0 trading conditions. You can follow your positions and orders in the trading panel at the bottom of the chart, and in the PrimeXBT app.
