PrimeXBT MCP: Trading with your AI assistant

Important: Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of losing money. Your AI assistant prepares orders, but you decide and confirm every trade and are responsible for it. The assistant’s chat text is written by its AI model and can be wrong: always check the numbers on the order card, which come from the PrimeXBT engine. Nothing in the assistant’s replies is investment advice.

How a trade works

With Read and trade access, you can place and manage trades by asking your assistant in plain language. Every trade follows the same four steps:

  1. You write a request, for example: “Buy 0.25 BTC at market”

  2. The PrimeXBT engine accesses it. The assistant requests a preview, and the engine calculates the price, margin, fee and liquidation level.

  3. An order card appears with those numbers and a Confirm button. It comes with a one-time ticket that is valid for 60 seconds.

  4. You confirm, by pressing Confirm or agreeing in the chat. Exactly the order shown on the card is sent.

If the price has moved or the ticket has expired, the card asks for a new estimate: select Re-estimate or ask the assistant for a new preview.

The order card

The order card shows what will be sent. All its numbers are calculated by the PrimeXBT engine, not by the AI model, so check them before you confirm.

One-time tickets

Every trading action needs a one-time ticket from its preview, which protects you from duplicate and unapproved trades.

  • Each ticket works once. A retry or a double click cannot place the same order twice.

  • It covers only what was shown. The ticket is tied to the exact order on the card.

  • It is valid for 60 seconds. If it expires, ask your assistant for a new preview.

  • Unclear result? No repeats. If the outcome of an action is unclear, the assistant checks the order status instead of sending the action again.

Cancel all orders is the only action without a preview. It exists so you can react fast, and it never opens a position. By default it leaves your positions’ stop loss and take profit in place.

Safety and limitations

How you stay in control

  • No autopilot. The assistant prepares, you decide. It cannot trade on its own; for extra caution, connect with Read only access.

  • No money movement. Withdrawals, deposits and transfers are not possible through MCP.

  • Limited access. A connection covers one account in the access level you chose, and the PrimeXBT server enforces these limits.

  • Revoke at any time. Turn off the connection in your PrimeXBT client area in one click.

  • Private conversations. PrimeXBT does not see your conversation with the assistant.

If the assistant won’t place a trade

Some AI models have built-in safeguards around financial actions and may decline to place a trade or ask for extra confirmation. This is your AI provider’s choice, not PrimeXBT’s. You can press Confirm on the order card, rephrase your request, or trade in the PrimeXBT terminal.

Limitations

  • Not suited to scalping. Every trade is a chat round-trip plus a confirmation.

  • Hedge accounts: a sell does not reduce a long. It opens a second, opposite position. To reduce a position, ask the assistant to close it.

  • Partial closes work only on netting accounts. The preview of a partial close is calculated as a full close.

  • Isolated instruments: leverage and margin type cannot be changed through MCP, only on the platform.
